Visiting educator/attorney dedicates an evening of his Maui vacation to infom concerned residents on climate change

Dan Galpern offered presentation on huge topic at house of huge creatures

#kihei 3/29/17  On Tuesday at the Whale Sanctuary (HIHWNMS) attorney Dan Galpern addressed numerous aspects of climate change from a legal perspective at 6:30 PM. During a family vacation visit from Eugene Or., the environmental attorney explained how he has undertaken cases defending the rights of the environment using the Clean Water Act and Clean Air Act.

Coordinated by Kihei resident Tova Callendar, about 25 concerned Maui residents, many of them familiar faces of ocean related environmental concerns, assembled to hear Dan explain that since the 1950’s federal officials and agencies were well aware of the negative effects of fossil fuel burning, but chose to take no action.

He referred the attentive group to www.ourchildrenstrust.org about securing the legal right to a stable climate, a general concept which dates back to ancient times.
