This morning when traffic signals stopped functioning, MPD stepped up for traffic control, here in North Kihei at the corner of Ohukai Road and Pi’ilani (no name change for this one yet, right?).
If this had to happen, Sunday morning may an advantageous time for traffic volume and good visibility.
The next time a decision needs to be made for traffic control at an intersection examining putting in a lighted traffic signal and installing a roundabout, remember another advantage to the roundabout besides safety, reducing number and severity of accidents, better traffic flow and good looks, the roundabout functions unaided just fine.
