This afternoon (10/4/13) Maui Tomorrow Executive Director Irene Bowie hosted a conversation about air quality on Maui with Dr Lorrin Pang, the Maui County Health Officer; attorney and clean air advocate Christine Andrews ; South Maui State Representative Kaniela Ing and KCA president Mike Moran. Much of the discussion focused on the H C & S sugar cane mill and overall operation, but expanded much beyond that, including the State Department of Health, Clean Air Branch (DOH-CAB), the federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), numerous sources and types of air pollution in central and South Maui, public health, surveys and statistics and much more .
