Last evening (3/3/14) your Association participated in the public process for the HDOT, among the limited non governmental guys at the Cameron Center in Wailuku. Many County government guys were there including DPW Director David Goode and his engineer Nolly; DOT Director JoAnne Johnson Winer and Planner Mike Summers. HDOT Maui Director Freddie Cadjigal attended as well as other Community Associations Reps, Dick Mayer from Kula and Bud Pikrone from Wailea and newly announced District 6 State Senate candidate Terez Amato from Kihei.

Unfortunately none of the specific road projects were topics for discussion, not even their preferred rankings, leaving some attendees questioning the process. Thus we know no more about a potential four lane So Kihei Rd, a completed N-S Collector road, a six lane Mokulele Hwy, a mauka ( of Pi’ilani Hwy) bypass highway or any of the other proposed project listed on the HDOT website, www.hawaiilongrangeplan.com .
