Water for the new High School

12/4/18 Next day we see the deep trenches are dug out               12/3/18 #kihei Originally, we understood the work being done by Goodfellow Brothers, on Kulanihakoi at the intersection of Kenolio on the north side and future NSCR on the south, was to facilitate the temporary signal light infrastructure at the Pi’ilani Hwy.  But, today, when we noted pipes piled in the roadway, we questioned what they were doing, and we were advised the work is to provide water for the...

Is This the First Physical Action for PWC’s Kenolio Apartments Construction in North Kihei?

UPDATE: 12/4/2018  We see P B Sullivan bringing in their heavy equipment to start  the grading and grubbing of this land, so the three story apartments for affordable rentals can be constructed here.                                        With so much development in this small area, at times it is difficult to ensure if a new project is commencing 11/30/18 NOW we see more evidence and confirmation that indeed this project is indeed commencing.                      ...

UPDATE  11/30/18   11/30/18 #kihei KCA wants to express our sincere appreciation to the T J Gomes Co and their hospitable manager Kawika at this project. Then going beyond that, he took us for a safe tour in his huge truck for a first hand view of the very challenging work. We often hear about the Kihei blue rock just below the surface, and the evidence...

Ohukai Speed Checking on Wednesday Morning

11/28/18 #kihei KCA has advocated for a contiguous sidewalks along Ohukai makai for over a decade but not a single foot of cement has been added. Granted, installing a sidewalk in some places along the road would be challenging, but in other sections, it would be  very simple. Many people walk in Kihei along the that road for a number of logical reasons. There are the Maui Bus stops at South Kihei Road, there is a school bus stop midway between SKR and the Piilani highway, beach access, and there is a business center across the highway. Just mauka of...

KENYON ENERGY Blessing of New Solar Farm Above R & T Park in Central Kihei

11/28/18 #kihei Commencing at 11:30 this morning, Kenyon Energy‘s photovoltaic farm of panels were blessed before a group of about forty, including a  quartet from KCA. We were most appreciative for the invitation, as the vast majority of those attending were related to the industry and partners in the electrical energy project – Maui Electric (MECO), the land owner, Haleakala Ranch as well as state legislators. In fact we were surprised there was no one we observed from Maui County Government. The farm is located south east of the developed part of the R & T park, and would not...
